Two 15-year-old boys have been charged following a fatal stabbing that occurred on Thursday, December 26, marking Regina’s sixth homicide of the year.
The Regina Police Service reported that officers responded to an emergency call around 5:50 p.m. near the intersection of 8th Avenue and Retallack Street. At the scene, they discovered a 30-year-old man, later identified as Charles Russell Thompson, with critical injuries from stab wounds. Despite police and EMS efforts to save him, Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following an investigation, police arrested two teenage suspects the next day. Both teenagers are facing charges of second-degree murder and breach of release conditions. Additionally, one of the teens is facing an extra charge of carrying a concealed weapon.
The suspects are set to appear in Regina Youth Court on Monday, while authorities continue to investigate the details of the incident.
