News Body: Police in Surrey, British Columbia, have arrested the driver of a vehicle with Washington state licence plates after the driver failed to stop at the Pacific Highway border crossing on Sunday morning.
According to the Surrey Police Service, the Canada Border Services Agency identified a white pickup truck that bypassed the border checkpoint at around 8:45 a.m. The vehicle was later seen traveling along King George Boulevard, exhibiting reckless behavior, including crossing into the opposite lane of traffic.
Authorities confirmed that the driver, who was the sole occupant of the truck, was taken into custody. Several vehicles sustained damage during the incident, but no injuries were reported.
The identity of the driver has not been disclosed, and the investigation remains ongoing. Police are urging anyone with relevant information or dashcam footage of the event to contact the Surrey Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
