A Scarborough man was arrested in eastern Ontario earlier this month after police found him in possession of a large quantity of cocaine.
On December 13, officers from the Gananoque Police Service stopped a vehicle suspected of carrying illegal drugs. During the traffic stop, a search, supported by a K9 unit, led to the discovery of a hidden compartment within the vehicle.
Inside the compartment, police seized approximately 454 grams of cocaine, valued at $48,500. Authorities also found a loaded .40 calibre handgun and $1,165 in cash. The 27-year-old suspect, from Scarborough, was charged with firearms and drug-related offenses.
He was taken into custody and is awaiting a bail hearing. Gananoque, located around 170 kilometers southwest of Ottawa, is a small town in Ontario.
