The Calgary Police Service’s Homicide Unit is investigating the deaths of a man and a woman found in separate locations in the city’s northwest on Sunday night. Authorities believe both deaths were targeted and are related to domestic circumstances.
The investigation began around 9:30 p.m. Officers were called to the 0 to 100 block of Kincora Grove N.W. just after 9:30 p.m. Sunday following reports of a person in medical distress. Upon arrival, they discovered a man in his 70s, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
A few hours later, at approximately 11:15 p.m., police received additional information that led them to a second victim. The woman, who investigators believe is the man’s daughter, was discovered in her 30s at a separate location in the 300 block of Tuscany Ridge Heights N.W. She was also confirmed deceased.
Authorities have stated that both deaths appear to be domestic in nature, and there is no ongoing threat to public safety. Investigators are seeking information about a black Nissan Pathfinder, with the Alberta license plate CLN-5276, which they believe was driven by the woman’s spouse.
The Calgary Police Service has scheduled autopsies for both victims on Friday, but as of now, no arrests have been made. The investigation remains ongoing.
